Navodaya College of Physiotherapy Organized Two-Day Hands-on Workshop
Navodaya College of Physiotherapy organized a two-day hands-on workshop on 4th and 5th May 2026 titled “Basics of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Techniques and an Introduction to Sensory Integration Therapy.” The workshop was conducted at Gurumurthy Hall, Navodaya Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Raichur.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. B. Kowshik Reddy, Organizing Chairman and Principal of Navodaya College of Physiotherapy. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Rakesh Krishna Kovela, Associate Professor at Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy, Mangalore. The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Padmavati S. Patil, Associate Professor (MPT Paediatrics).
A total of 40 participants, including BPT students, interns, MPT students, and faculty members, actively attended the workshop. The sessions were highly informative and clinically oriented, emphasizing both theoretical foundations and practical applications of PNF techniques and Sensory Integration Therapy. The speaker systematically covered core principles, indications, contraindications, and clinical reasoning involved in selecting and applying appropriate techniques.
Special emphasis was placed on the role of PNF and Sensory Integration Therapy in both paediatric and adult rehabilitation, particularly in protocol planning and functional outcomes. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged active participation, with attendees engaging in meaningful discussions and clarifying clinical doubts.
Overall, the workshop was successful in enhancing participants’ understanding and practical competence. Certificates were distributed to all participants, and the program concluded with the felicitation of the resource person in recognition of his valuable contribution.
