Health Camp Report – Rampuram, Andhra Pradesh
A multidisciplinary health camp was successfully organized on 23th July 2026 at Rampuram, Andhra Pradesh. The event was spearheaded by the Department of General Medicine from Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur, with collaborative involvement from various departments, including our Physiotherapy Department.
The Physiotherapy team played a key role in the camp, actively participating in screening, assessment, awareness, and management of patients. The team comprised one PG and two committed interns — Dr. Chitra, Dr. Neha, and Dr. Shahista — who worked under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Yateendra P.
On the day of the camp, 39 patients were screened. A large number of people attended the camp, highlighting the need for medical outreach in the rural population. We have advised ergonomics to patient to visit our Navodaya Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
It was observed that a majority of attendees were unaware of physiotherapy and its significance in improving function, managing pain, and enhancing lifestyle quality. Recognizing this gap, our team took the initiative to educate the patients about the scope of physiotherapy, especially its role in post-injury recovery, chronic pain, and geriatric rehabilitation.
Immediate care was provided for conditions such as joint stiffness, neck and back pain, muscular weakness, and postural issues. In addition, the team demonstrated simple home-based exercises, gave ergonomic advice, and provided guidance on activity modifications to prevent further complications.
Patients requiring prolonged or specialized therapy were referred to Navodaya Hospital’s Physiotherapy Unit for comprehensive care and follow-up. The camp also served as a great opportunity for community engagement. Many villagers appreciated learning about physiotherapy as an alternative to medication and surgery.
Key Highlights of the Camp
- Early detection of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardio respiratory, and pediatric disorders.
- Educating individuals on self-care techniques and the importance of exercise in daily life.
- Strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration between medical departments.
- Distributing awareness materials in the local language to ensure better understanding and retention.
In conclusion, the camp was not just a healthcare initiative, but also a platform to empower the local population with knowledge about preventive health and physical rehabilitation. The camp highlighted the importance of extending physiotherapy services to rural areas and emphasized the need for continued awareness and accessibility to improve community health outcomes.
