Community Health & Physiotherapy Department Activity – Community Orientation Programme For Physiotherapy Students
Event Participation: Purple Fair-2025 – Raichur
The Department of Community Health & Physiotherapy, Navodaya College of Physiotherapy, actively participated in the Purple Fair organized on 18th & 19th September 2025 at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Raichur.
The fair was organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, in collaboration with the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Davanagere (under the administrative control of NIEPID, Secunderabad).
This special initiative was dedicated to distributing needful assistive devices to persons with disabilities. The program was graced by Hon’ble Chief Guest, Shri Kumar Naik, Member of Parliament, Raichur, who emphasized the importance of inclusive development and community Health. The event was further motivated and supported by the Director of RIMS, faculty members from the Department of Psychiatry (RIMS), and other experts, making the fair impactful and holistic.
Along with Community Health and various NGO based Health stalls, the fair also included cultural and sports activities for persons with disabilities, promoting confidence, talent, and community participation.
Our students actively contributed through patient registration, disability screening, physiotherapy awareness, and rehabilitation guidance. Their participation reflected Navodaya’s strong commitment to social responsibility, disability empowerment, and inclusive community health care.

The event was supervised and coordinated under the Department of Community Health & Physiotherapy, ensuring enthusiastic student involvement and effective contribution.
By participating in this national-level initiative, our students not only contributed to the community but also gained invaluable exposure to rehabilitation practices, disability empowerment, inter-institutional collaboration, and social inclusion through cultural and sports activities.
