Navodaya College of Physiotherapy Celebrates World Physiotherapy Day 2026

Navodaya College of Physiotherapy, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur, commemorated World Physiotherapy Day 2026 on 8 September 2026 at the Dr. S. R. Hegde Silver Jubilee Auditorium. The celebration was conducted in alignment with the 2026 World Physiotherapy theme, “The role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke.”
The programme was held under the guidance and patronage of Sri. S. R. Reddy, Hon’ble Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur, and was organized under the leadership of Dr. B. Kowshik Reddy, Principal, Navodaya College of Physiotherapy. The event was graced by Dr. V. Rama Mohan Gupta, Director of Academic Development and Research, NET; Dr. Arun K. N, Medical Superintendent, NMCH & RC; and Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, Director (IP&SA), NET, as Guests of Honour.
The academic celebration focused on the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, bringing together perspectives from medical, surgical, critical care, neurophysiotherapy, cardiovascular physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and community health physiotherapy.
Expert sessions covered prevention of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, medical and surgical management of acute coronary syndrome, the significance of physiotherapy in cardiovascular diseases, medical and surgical management of stroke, physical rehabilitation of stroke, and the role of Community Health Physiotherapy in cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
The programme featured contributions from Dr. Syed Asif Basha, Dr. A. Pravallika, Dr. Yateendra, Dr. R. J. V. V. Prasad, Dr. Gautami Pujar, and Dr. SG Patil, representing different areas of clinical and community-based healthcare.
The celebration highlighted the expanding role of physiotherapy and physical activity in cardiovascular disease prevention, stroke management, functional recovery, rehabilitation, and community-based health promotion. It also emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary healthcare collaboration in improving patient outcomes and promoting an active and healthier population.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, National Anthem, and High Tea, marking World Physiotherapy Day 2026 with an emphasis on evidence-informed physiotherapy practice, interdisciplinary learning, and the contribution of physiotherapy to cardiovascular and neurological health.
