Dr. Syed Asif Basha

About Faculty

Myself Syed Asif Basha, working as an Associate Professor from the year 2024 in this institution. I have been engaging myself in clinical practice, teaching in physiotherapy from past 09 years. My areas of expertise are in Neuro physiotherapy, Paediatric Physiotherapy and Neuro-Paediatric Rehabilitation. I was the Neuro Module leader for training Postgraduate students of MSc Clinical Physiotherapy, with the collaboration of Coventry University, United Kingdom. I am a certified Neuro Dynamic Solutions Trainer from NDS Australia for both Level 1 and 2. I am a recognized PG guide and PG examiner at different universities of State. I’m involved in research projects with the Neurosciences and Paediatric Department.

MPT – KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi, Karnataka, in the Year 2016.
BPT – M.S. Ramaiah College of Physiotherapy, Bangalore, Karnataka, in the Year 2014.

Research & Clinical Interest Area

Research Areas: Acute care of all Neurological and Paediatric patients (with special focus on Stroke, Spinal cord tumors/injury etc. & Neuropathies/Myelopathies of adult and paediatric population), Studies on healthy population for development of normative values for various categories.
Clinical Areas: Neurological and Paediatric patient care in ICU setups, Rehabilitation of Various conditions of Neurological and Paediatric conditions with emphasis on conditions like stroke, spinal cord injuries/tumors, GBS, TBI, CP, GDD and Neuropathies/Myelopathies.

Won 2nd Price for paper presentation titled “Effect of Auditory Cueing and Foam Hurdle Crossing with and without Eyes Closed on Balance and Quality of Life in Geriatric Population: An Experimental Study” at Quadran’s 2020 conference conducted by KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi.
Awarded Best Teacher Award for the year 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 by JSS College of Physiotherapy, JSSMVP, Mysuru.
Awarded Best Clinical Role Model for the year 2018-19 by JSS College of Physiotherapy for serving in JSS hospital, Mysuru.
Won 2^nd Price for Paper presentation titled “Effect of Yoga Eye Exercises on Letter Recognition and Reaction Time in School going Children with and without Refractive Errors: An Experimental Study” at AIIMS Conference 2015.

Achievements:

Worked towards obtaining B+ NAAC Grade as an 1^st Individual Institution, for JSS College of Physiotherapy in the Year 2019-2020.
